Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since the end of the 1980s. Her work has been recognized for TV and film from the mid-80s onwards, she's won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and raised by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. When Bassett was about five the family were moved from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida to stay with their mother who was divorced from their father. Bassett was in high school when she saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of being an actor had come true. In the year 1980, Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. She was introduced to Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. In African-American Studies, the year 1980. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major characters in the action-adventure film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
